Helium Comedy Club Fictional Branding

Roles: Art direction, design, & prop photography

Most comedy clubs feel like they’re stuck in the 80s and 90s. While these decades were great for the world of comedy, things have changed and all of them would benefit from updating their image.

I set out to create a modern rebrand aimed at the people that frequent these clubs the most: young comics in their 20s and 30s. The rebrand as a whole is based around the tongue-in-cheek concept of “Clean up your act” which encourages these comics to come together through workshops and open mic nights.

This rebrand includes an updated logo system that can be used interchangeably throughout their marketing collateral. The main logo is a simple outlined “Helium” to play with the idea of helium filling a balloon. The imagery is meant to be ridiculous, featuring objects that relate to comedy, but presented in a dry and sterile way, reinforcing the idea of cleaning up their acts.
