El Alma de Guanajuato Exhibition
Roles: Page layout design, photography, & copywriting
I had the opportunity to study in Guanajuato City, Mexico in the summer of 2017 and 2019 with PSU’s printmaking abroad trip run by Mandee Schroer. We learned different printmaking techniques under master printmaker Hugo Anya. The prints we created were used in an exhibition at PSU, which I had the pleasure of branding and creating all collateral for.
We chose the name, El Alma de Guanajuato, or the Soul of Guanajuato, because the city is such a vibrant and soulful place. It is a beautiful mix of new and old and has so much history. The fonts that were chosen for the main title were meant to give this feeling and to resemble the handwritten signs that can be found all over the city. The images featured in the posters and brochure were taken by me with a 35mm film camera.
